Shoshana Finacom has been Office Manager and Executive Assistant in the West Coast Office of Public Justice and the Public Justice Foundation since September 2004.  She came highly recommended by Public Justice Foundation Past President Gary Gwilliam, of Gwilliam, Ivary, Chiosso, Cavalli & Brewer, a prominent plaintiffs’ personal injury firm in Oakland, CA.  

As a legal assistant and paralegal at the firm for more than 12 years, Shoshana was responsible for the management of over 75% of the cases, organized and maintained complex litigation and computer systems, and assisted in all phases of mediation, arbitration and trial preparation.  Prior to that, she was self-employed for more than eight years providing bookkeeping and organizational consulting for small businesses, as well as secretarial support services on an as-needed basis. 

Shoshana worked for the American Jewish Congress as an Administrative Assistant in San Francisco, CA, where she initiated the Consumer Guide to San Francisco Nursing Homes project, was the Planner for Long Term Health Care Programs for the Sonoma County Area Agency on Aging, and drafted a County Plan responsible for bringing Adult Day Health Care Services to the county.  She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology/Gerontology from Sonoma State University (1980).

Barber family

Rich Barber

In 2000, Gus Barber was 9-years old when he was killed by a misfired Remington rifle. Since Gus’s tragic death, his father Rich has been gathering evidence about the faulty trigger design on Remington’s 700-series rifles; the defect has been a public safety hazard for more than half a century. Public Justice is now seeking to unseal court records that could prove Remington’s dangerous negligence.
