Paula Athey assists Managing Attorney Adele Kimmel, Environmental Enforcement Director Jim Hecker, Power-Cotchett Attorney Richard Webster, Brayton-Thornton Attorney Melanie Hirsch and Budd-Kazan Attorney Matthew Wessler. She joined Public Justice in 1995 as the Receptionist and was promoted to several other positions.

From 1997-1999, Paula served as Legal Secretary and, from 1999-2000, as the Administration Coordinator. Paula returned to Public Justice in 2002 as a Legal Assistant. She studied Government and Politics and Paralegal Studies at the University of Maryland and University of Maryland University College.

Andrea Felts

Andrea Felts was going through a costly divorce and needed some extra money to make ends meet. So she took out three online loans. When the lenders began charging illegally high interest rates, Felts filed a lawsuit and Public Justice joined her lead counsel.

Fred Weaver

Four years ago on New Year’s Eve in Baton Rouge, Fred Weaver received a voicemail from his credit card company. The message said that Weaver was “ruining his life” by not making his payments on time and demanded the call be returned that night.
